トキ Japanese Crested Ibis

一年前、佐渡のトキふれあいプラザで。

I visited Toki Forest Park in Sado Island in Niigata Prefecture.

繁殖期は頭から背中にかけて、羽の色を黒くするそうです。The feathers of ibises blackish from the head to the back during the breeding season.

マジックミラーになっていて、すぐそばにやって来るかも。You might observe ibises very close.

牛たちのそばにいるのは、　They were eating by cattle.

シロハラクイナ White-breasted Waterhen

 西表島で何度か見かけた。人の住む場所の近くで暮らしているみたい。

出会ってもすぐ走って行ってしまう。

I saw White-breasted Waterhen again in Iriomote Island.

一度茂みに駆け込んだけれど、遠くから眺めているとまた出てきた。２羽。

I hid myself away, watched them.

すぐに茂みに駆け込んでは、また出てくるという繰り返し。

They run into the bush and came out again.

同じクイナ科のヤンバルクイナのように、かわいい！　　They run fast.
